Overcoming Fear Day 13
WEEK 3 DEVOTIONAL
CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER
so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
1Corinthians 12:25
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
The stores are out of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and many other staples. People are worried and scurrying here and there to make sure that they have everything they need. They are afraid that they may not have enough. There is no thought of their neighbor. When fear comes in, all thoughts of others goes out. Fear says that I must protect myself. I must prepare for everything that could go wrong. Fear does not think of another. Fear does not remember that God is my protector, that He is my provider. Fear doesn’t remember that my neighbor has needs.
PRAYER:
Wow, You said to not be anxious about anything, but we are to care for or take thought of one another. Instead of being anxious about myself and my needs, I should put that emotional energy into caring for others. Lord, I repent for all the time that I have spent worrying about the future. Help me to spend my mental energy seeking You and caring for Your people. Father God, I repent for the fear and worry that I have had. I repent for focusing on myself and my needs. I repent for ______________________________________________ when I set out to protect myself instead of relying on You to protect me. I do not want to be god. I declare that You are my God. You are my protector. I hold up my fear of _______________________________________ to You and I ask You to protect me.
I repent for the worry that I had about _________________________________ . I renounce the lie that my needs will not be met; that You will not provide for my needs. I have a need for ____________________________________. I trust You to provide for every need that I have including _____________________________ . Thank you, Father, for being my protector. I thank you for protecting me from ___________________________. Thank you for being my provider. I thank you for providing ______________________________________________ .
Father God, I want to care about others the way You have called me to do. Could You please show me someone that You want me to care for- to take thought for?
